HUBLOT KING POWER FOUDROYANTE ALL BLACK
A Big Bang with an even stronger, more powerful and further evolved design: this is the King Power - a timepiece with a complex dial made of several layers in a sober and powerful aesthetic concept, housing a split-seconds foudroyante chronograph movement.
King Power, a watch with an extreme and robust design. Its strength lies both in its tradition and faithfulness to the design of the Big Bang, as well as in its avant-garde modernism. All its components have been redesigned: the case has been shaped with sharp angles and straight sides, and features raised end pieces and screws. On the case edge, the push pieces stand out more, with the decorative tubes inserted in the black composite resin. The bezel has acquired a new look thanks to the rubber moulding around the ceramic. The dial is made of several layers and ten extra elements in addition to the powerful black index markers. The Chronograph and Foudroyante hands are completely new and made on two levels, with two different types of finish.

Romain Jerome - "Ma petite entreprise ne connaît pas la crise"
The Chinese ideogram for crisis, Wei Ji, comprises two parts: “Wei” meaning “danger” and “Ji” meaning “opportunity”.
The prevailing pessimism has not affected the Geneva watchmaker, according to Yvan Arpa, its Managing Director:
“We don’t only manufacture luxury products, we create luxury. The materiality of the crisis has not affected the environment and values we have established.”
DNA of Famous Legends: A new marketing proposal that stands out from among the hundreds of brands that make up the FH, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry. Geneva-based watchmaker Romain Jerome was founded in 2004 by a private equity fund. In 2006, with the arrival of Mr. Yvan Arpa, the company gained new momentum and began to create exceptional timepieces inspired by, and created in tribute to, the great legends of our time.

Audemars Piguets traditional “AP Night”
The Audemars Piguet evening sends an optimistic breeze blowing through the watchmaking kingdom.
The economic climate is depressed but rather than succumbing to these winds of panic, the Manufacture Audemars Piguet is hoisting its trademark twin flags of optimism and determination. On the occasion of this first SIHH to be organised in January, the brand therefore decided to send out a positive signal and to maintain its traditional “AP Night” honouring its commercial partners whom it wishes to thank for their commitment and their loyalty.
This evening also heralds a new era for Audemars Piguet, since Philippe Merk is now taking up the corporate reins. After serving the brand for over 20 years and leading it to dazzling prosperity, Georges-Henri Meylan is confidently handing on the torch to his successor.

Precise, Preciser, RICHARD LANGE “Pour le Mérite”
The third Lange wristwatch with a fusée-and-chain transmission continues the tradition of observation watches that are fully focused on precise time measurement. This horological rarity with its three-part enamel dial has famous historic forebears.
The pocket chronometer – the timepiece of the scientific elite – has always been a coveted rarity. It dates back to around 1880 at A. Lange & Söhne, when Richard Lange, the company founder’s oldest son and technical director of the family business, was already inspiring the craft of precision watchmaking. Overall, only about 30 of these unusual timepieces were ever made. Now, the chronometer with a fusée-andchain transmission is experiencing a renaissance, as an exclusive timekeeping instrument for the wrist dedicated to mechanical precision – reduced to this sole purpose, without any further complications. Its name: RICHARD LANGE “Pour le Mérite”.

Vacheron Constantin, upgrading the Hallmark of Geneva in its production
Introduced in the 19th century by an industry long threatened with the scourge of counterfeiting, the Hallmark of Geneva is now regarded as a true horological philosophy and the symbol of horological perfection.Given legal status in 1886, the Hallmark of Geneva is probably one of the oldest professional hallmarks in any industry, recognised as a label of origin, but especially as a guarantee of superior quality. But while it is highly prized in the world of Haute Horlogerie, not just anyone who wants to can join the select circle of manufactories able to obtain it.
A very select club of manufactories
Comprising twelve permanent criteria - modified over the years, of course, to meet various changes in the industry, the Hallmark of Geneva is only given to movements that satisfy all twelve.
What is more, it is only granted to movements assembled and regulated within the canton of Geneva and by watch Manufactures whose head office is there. The number of companies able to display it on their prestige series can be counted on the fingers of one hand, making a sort of exclusive club to which Vacheron Constantin is proud to belong.

Harry Winston introduces Histoire de Tourbillon 1
Harry Winston introduces Histoire de Tourbillon, a unique new collection of rare timepieces dedicated to the complex craftsmanship of one of the most exclusive horological complications. Featuring five distinct timepiece designs, the highly collectable series will explore the function of the tourbillon, while celebrating Harry Winston’s continued commitment to the innovation of fine watch making. Each unique design will be a limited edition of 20 timepieces. The first in the series, Histoire de Tourbillon 1, will be launched Spring 2009.
Exploring the movement and sculpture of the complication, the Histoire de Tourbillon 1 envisions a modern interpretation of the tourbillon, through innovative materials and a highly sophisticated mechanism. Sleek and unique, the 48 mm case is constructed of white gold and Zalium, an ultra-light alloy made from zirconium and allium lily, known for its low density, high-thermal resistance, and high durability. Originating in the aerospace industry, Zalium is a material exclusive to Harry Winston timepieces. From the technical to the aesthetic, the commitment to perfection is demonstrated in all dimensions of the Histoire de Tourbillon 1 design. On the technical side, the timepiece features two 25° inclined single-axis tourbillons with rapid 36-second rotations, which work together to neutralize any effects of gravity. This high rotational speed minimizes prolonged exposure of the regulator to natural gravity. Comprised of 88 components, each ultra-light system weighs a mere 0.46 grams, allowing the cages to effectively perform the rapid 36-second rotations.
