Boucheron – MEC Jungle: limited edition
Jewelers are fascinated with the workings of nature and have always exploited and magnified nature. At Boucheron, no animal or even insect has escaped this design madness. Today, in a bid to return to the secular tradition rich in rare but often forgotten models, the creative types at the House have taken the MEC watches with the deliciously “tonneau” case and have “updated” them by adding “Boucheron’s little multi-coloured animal mascots”.

In perfect keeping with the tradition of the extraordinary clocks from all eras produced for sponsorship, the House’s new prestige collection will be produced as a limited edition to meet the high expectations of lovers of time pieces that are as beautiful as they are unusual. Structurally, these pieces, available in yellow gold, pink gold or steel, are a sort of anthology. They aim to combine the best of the know-how of each partner company by offering each of them a side on which to work. The collector, seduced by the intricacy of the work, will be the clear winner in this venture.
On the front, these lovers of watch-making art in its purest state will enjoy the finely-crimped tiny animal sculpture that they have chosen. Depending on their tastes, some will fall for the little chameleon; others for the coiled snake or the snake with the sea turtle. Each individual may freely choose the way he wishes to tell the time, but one thing is certain: this treatment requires considerable manual work by flat-iron artisans. The work is particularly original and, in the very short term, should be available in an infinite number of variations, thus becoming the hallmark of a rare and luxury time piece.
In this collection, the attention to detail, pushed to its very limits, corresponds to the desire of the designers to give their all to a work of art where luxury justifies its use of technology to the extent that technology adapts to beauty.

The solution in the quest for a graphic absolute : The MEC Jungle watches use the animal mascot gripping the case to work the oscillating mass. This functional part is finished in such a way that it becomes an integral part of the design. Thus the two sides of the instruments with extremely sober pearly white dials are deserving of attention since they are both representative of excellence according to the historic rules set by Boucheron.
