Audemars Piguets traditional “AP Night”
The Audemars Piguet evening sends an optimistic breeze blowing through the watchmaking kingdom.
The economic climate is depressed but rather than succumbing to these winds of panic, the Manufacture Audemars Piguet is hoisting its trademark twin flags of optimism and determination. On the occasion of this first SIHH to be organised in January, the brand therefore decided to send out a positive signal and to maintain its traditional “AP Night” honouring its commercial partners whom it wishes to thank for their commitment and their loyalty.
This evening also heralds a new era for Audemars Piguet, since Philippe Merk is now taking up the corporate reins. After serving the brand for over 20 years and leading it to dazzling prosperity, Georges-Henri Meylan is confidently handing on the torch to his successor.
So the spirit was festive and friendly and the event was pervaded by the distinctive atmosphere well known to all those close to Audemars Piguet. Mrs Jasmine Audemars, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Mr. Philippe Merk, the new CEO of Audemars Piguet; and Mr. Georges-Henri Meylan, Member of the Board, welcomed their guests to the Halle des Sablières for a magnificent dinner cocktail. Accompanied by jazz, lounge, afro and latino sounds orchestrated by DJ STAVEF and his saxophone player, all enjoyed the opportunity to chat, sample dishes freshly prepared in front of them, and play various games of chance such as black jack, poker and roulette.
Several brand ambassadors joined in the fun, including charming singer Anggun who literally lit up the evening, along with Italian skier Manuela Moelgg (currently ranked 10th in the world championship), Swiss golfer Julien Clément and Japanese K1 Fighting champion, Masato. (Audemars Piguet press)
